How To Find Custom Gas Springs

Published: April 05, 2013

Custom Engineered Gas Springs

Industrial Gas Springs, Inc. has worked closely with DARPA, the Navy and Coast Guard to develop gas springs for use on their ships. These ships are built using the highest standards in engineering, design, and manufacturing so their gas springs must also meet these same strict requirements. IGS coordinated with NAVSEA to achieve these high standards and has begun supplying specially made, highly engineered gas springs.

While Industrial Gas Springs stocks many standard sizes of gas springs for typical applications, many require a more custom and detailed approach. Let us use our extensive gas spring design knowledge and capabilities to provide you with the custom solution you need.

Gas Spring Selection and Design

Industrial Gas Springs, Inc. has the skill and expertise required to find the best gas spring solution for your product. Whether you have a new prototype design, are improving an existing product, or are unsure whether you can use gas springs, let us use our experience and powerful gas spring design program to do the work for you.

We need only a few basic details about the application you are working with; our Design Application Form lists the type of information we’d require. When submitting your design form you can also attach any sketches, CAD drawings or other files to better illustrate your project.

How To Find The Gas Springs You Need

If you already know what gas spring you need, use the Industrial Gas Springs website’s powerful gas spring sorting feature.

After choosing the product line you need, i.e., VolumelineCustomlineStainless Steel, click the link to the appropriate page and select the type of end fittings or mounting style you want. Then you can filter by a range of different dimensions and characteristics. Just hover over the "Filter" and select from the drop down list. Once you’ve narrowed down your options you can select from the right hand columns to get either a CAD drawing, Spec Sheet, or quote for the part you’ve found.
